A video database platform for MMA fight clips, deeply integrated with YouTube's API, with community membership.
MMAfan.com is a private project started by a passionate MMA enthusiast in Örebro who wanted a single place to collect all MMA clips in an organised way. We were contacted and what started as a simple client job ended with us becoming co-owners and co-developers of MMAfan.com.
The assignment
Our assignment was to create a brand new website tightly integrated with YouTube and their API. It needed to be easy to navigate, and easy for registered members to submit new clips. Each submitted clip is tagged with the fighters involved, their clubs, countries, and any relevant organisation. From there, visitors can easily find all videos featuring a favourite fighter, or every clip from a given club.
