An internal dashboard for analysing and prioritising technical debt across almost 300 frontend applications at Gjensidige.

Frontend Score is a private internal tool built for Gjensidige to make technical debt across a large frontend portfolio visible and actionable. It identifies almost 300 frontend applications among more than 4,000 GitHub repositories, then crawls their package data and presents the results in one shared dashboard.

Each repository receives a score based on how current its dependencies are. Patch releases do not affect the score, while outdated minor and major versions accumulate increasingly larger penalties. Important packages carry more weight, and adopting Gjensidige’s design system contributes positively to the result.

What it provides

  • Portfolio-wide scores for frontend applications
  • Package usage, latest versions, and obsolete or outdated status
  • Weighted scoring based on package importance and version distance
  • Design system adoption as part of the overall score
  • Team views for ownership and prioritisation
  • Trends for following technical debt over time
  • Search and filtering across repositories and packages

The result gives teams a common way to spot ageing dependencies, compare applications, and focus maintenance where it has the greatest impact.
