The assignment
The most popular Final Fantasy guide — the one for Final Fantasy VII — was rebuilt from scratch in WordPress and PHP in 2013, with a new design, new content, and improved structure. This became the new template for other FFU guides to migrate to. The existing design on other parts of FFU was nearly seven years old at that point, so an update was well overdue.
Timed to the site’s 15th anniversary, this new design launched with a strong focus on content — easy to read, easy to find, and easy to search. Well-organised, clear, relevant, and explanatory. All wrapped up in a clean, light, and airy design built on modern code standards and best practices.
